Your Right to Delete Your Data
You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data collected by the SafeIsland CY application at any time, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, EU 2016/679).
What Data We Hold
Depending on how you use the app, we may hold the following data associated with your account:
- Account information (email address, authentication credentials etc)
- Incident reports submitted by you, including timestamps and GPS coordinates
- Device identifiers used for push notifications
- App usage logs
How to Request Deletion
As the app does not currently provide an in-app deletion feature, please submit your request via email:
Your email should include:
- The subject line: "Data Deletion Request"
- The email address associated with your account
- Any additional information to help us identify your data (optional)
We will never ask for passwords or payment details to process a deletion request.
What Happens After You Request
- Deletion will be completed within 30 days of the request
- You will receive a confirmation email once deletion is complete
- After deletion, your account will be permanently deactivated and you will no longer be able to use the app with that account
What We Cannot Delete
We may retain certain data even after a deletion request where required by law or legitimate interest:
- Anonymised, non-identifiable aggregate data (e.g. statistical reporting)
- Data required to comply with legal obligations under Cypriot or EU law
- Records necessary to resolve outstanding disputes or enforce our Terms of Use
